Poem written by an 11 year old Afghan girl

This poem was recorded in a NYT magazine article about female underground poetry groups in Afghanistan. An amazing article about the ways in which women are using a traditional two line poetry form to express their resistance to male oppression, their feelings about love (considered blasphemous).

"Shot in the head last night by police"tonytonytony70

Keep in mind that the police were vehemently stating that it was not them who shot her and it was a drive by of a group of Black guys. They were probably praying that this girl died so no one would find out the truth. Well guess what? We have another testimony against the Ferguson police in court for blatantly lying like how they are doing now with not telling the truth about Michael Brown.

Y’all I was friends with Mya at HU, she is a peaceful person and would never do anything to deserve a bullet to the head. She’s slowly recovering, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers
